Our Purpose ...

Wacky Olympics 2012

Update: Note that this has been moved up a week to accomodate preperation for the Ladies Banquet.

It's coming again!  Our BSBC Youth Groups are holding their wacky and a little messy event ... the Wacky Olympics.  Come for a great time and bring a friend.

When: February 3rd from 7:00-9:00 pm (Note the change in date)Slimey

Who: All Middle School and Senior High Students are invited.

What: A great evening of team games with our own special twist.

Where: Meet at the Church Gym.

Other Details: Come prepared to have some wacky fun and maybe get a bit messy.  Only wear clothes that you don’t mind getting ruined.


Weather Cancellation

Weather Cancellation:  Due to the large amount of snowfall predicted for this afternoon and this evening, youth groups are cancelled for this evening, Friday, Jan.27th.  (We will look at possibly rescheduling the Progressive Dinner event for later in the year.)

Reminder: If School is cancelled due to bad weather, we also cancel evening youth ministry.

 

Board Games Cafe

WHAT'S UP: This week at Youth Groups, we are having our fall board games cafe.  Join us for a relaxing, social evening with some great food and some great games.

WHEN IS IT HAPPENING: Friday, November 25th, 7:00 - 9:00 PM

WHERE DO WE MEET: The Youth/Young Adult Floor at the Church  (3rd floor of Family Life Centre)

 WHAT TO BRING: Bring your favourite board or card game.  If you don't have one to bring, don't worry ... We will also have some of our own selection there too.  Also, you can bring a couple of bucks for the canteen that will be open.

College & Career Curling Evening

WHEN IS IT?: Saturday, November 19th, 2011 7:00-9:00pm

WHERE IS IT?: The Capital Winter Club (232 Rockwood Ave., Fredericton)

WHAT IS THE COST?: There is a $10 cost for registration (this covers the cost of our ice rental).  Monies will be collected upon arrival.

HOW DO I REGISTER?: You can register on the website under "Schedule & Events" and then "Sign-Ups". 

 

Indoor Drive-In

WHAT'S UP: It is another family night at the church.  For this youth group night, our youth groups will be meeting together for an "Indoor Drive-In Movie Night" with a great movie along with cheap eats for sale (popcorn, drinks, and other snacks) and an old style drive-in theme. 

WHEN IS IT HAPPENING: Friday, October 28th, 7:00-9:00 PM

COST/WHAT TO BRING: The Movie is free. If you would like to bring your own comfy seats ... you are more than welcome.  Also, bring along your family, a friend and a few bucks for some movie treats.

WHERE DO WE MEET: The Gymnasium of Brunswick Street Baptist Church.


Power Up: Leader Training

To kick off the fall ministries at Brunswick Street Baptist Church, we are providing a ONE-EVENING training event designed for all those who lead or help in ministry with our children and teens (help in nursery, teach Sunday School, etc.).  If you are yet to complete our “Reducing the Risk” abuse prevention training, here is your opportunity. Join us in either of the workshop slots to fulfill this requirement.  Come to an evening with a free supper, a couple of workshops (including the Executive Minister from Moncton Wesleyan, Rev. Kevin Matthews), and closing challenge with a great speaker, the head of Youth and Family for the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches, Rev. Dale Stairs.

When: October 14th, 2011

Location: Brunswick Street Baptist Church

Cost: FREE!!

altPaintball!!!

Who:  This awesome event is open to College & Career and High School ages.  (If you are under 18, a parent must sign a release form when you are dropped off at the paintball field.)

Where: Drop off and pick up are at the field at 16 Dorcas Street, Fredericton.  Directions from the church are available here.

When: Saturday, October 1, 2-5 pm.

Costs: People usually shoot somewhere between 200-500 paintballs (depending if you are conservative with your paintballs).  Here are the package options:

  • $20 - Semi Automatic Marker, Mask, Air, 100 Paintballs and Field Fee Included
  • $45 - Semi Automatic Marker, Mask, Air, 500 Paintballs and Field Fee Included
  • extra paint:  $7 for 100; $13 for 200
How to Register:  If you are going to be attending, contact Pastor Jodie ASAP and confirm (even if you have mentioned you might attend before)

Gamma Girls

When: Wednesdays, 6:30 pm

Location: 3rd floor of Family Life Centre (Youth Floor)

Cost: a registration fee of $10 is asked to cover the cost of the book

Starting on this Wednesday night, September 28th, Middle School Girls are invited to one of join Gamma Girls.  Gamma Girls is a 10-week mentorship small group that equips girls for self-leadership by focusing on attitudes, values, and skills needed for navigating the teen years.  Each term, the group is limited to a group of 10 girls.  Registration  is required and space is limited.  If you are interested in attending the group, you can contact one of the leaders: Erin Tingley (454-0285) and Meaghan Colpitts (472-1134).
